The British School at Athens is committed to supporting student participation in archaeological fieldwork and research in Greece. This year, we are delighted to be able the following awards:
BSA Fieldwork Bursary
This is an award of £750, instituted to enable a current or recently graduated (within 12 months) undergraduate or postgraduate student enrolled at a UK HEI to participate in a BSA field project. Preference will be given to a candidates who have no other sources of income, and who might never been to Greece before.
SPHS Fieldwork Bursary
The Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies offers up to two annual bursaries of £200 each to enable students enrolled in a UK university to participate in a fieldwork project (excavation, survey, study season). Preference will be given to students participating in British School at Athens projects, engaged in postgraduate research, or unable to secure funding from other sources.
Applications are automatically considered for all bursaries.
Candidates for both awards must have the support of the field project director prior to applying for the award.
